Game Design Project
For my Game Engines and Platforms class, I was tasked with leading a group of people in creating a video game from the ground up. We had 4 members, with me developing all of the visual assets, their animations and the overall design of our game. I also oversaw the production of the game, where I placed all assets, tested their functionality, and reviewed code as it was implemented. The process was challenging, but we finished the project at a highly efficient pace! Below are screenshots and some example sprites used in game, all designed by me.
The style we chose was pixel based to ensure we finished all of the assets in time. The premise of the game is to navigate around the farm over-world collecting various pieces of equipment and completing tasks. The layout of the game world allows for an easy understanding of how to complete tasks without the need for exposition, inspired by Metroid games.
